Recurring creative gatherings to connect through making

Crafty Nights is a recurring community event designed to make creative practices accessible, social and easy to integrate into everyday life. The initiative offers informal gatherings where people can experiment with different crafts together.

Each edition features a new hands-on activity: from jewelry making to embroidery or candle painting, encouraging curiosity, creativity and connection.

More than a workshop, Crafty Nights functions as a social ritual where making becomes a way to meet, relax and share time with others.

The concept

Crafty Nights was born informally within my own circles of friends in the Netherlands and Italy, where small evenings dedicated to making things together gradually attracted more and more people. What started as a spontaneous initiative evolved into a structured community activity that I later introduced at ANDA Cowork in Granada.

The project responds to a simple but often unmet need: many people enjoy working with their hands and feel drawn to creative practices, yet rarely dedicate time to them or commit to a specific craft. Crafty Nights offers a recurring and welcoming space where creativity becomes accessible, social, and sustainable over time.

Each edition focuses on a different hands-on activity: from jewelry making to small crafts and artistic experiments, allowing participants to explore diverse techniques without pressure or specialization. Many sessions also incorporate upcycling practices, transforming discarded or unused materials into new objects and creative outcomes, adding an environmental and educational dimension to the experience.
